Okay, here we go again. This time, however, I’m doing something a little different. Finding synonyms for titles was a bit easy. So…
Yesterday, I posted about the “theft” of virtual money in the online game Eve. This make-believe money may be sold for real cash in the future. Are some people taking online games too serously?
I caught an interesting item on Blue’s News earlier. There’s a ruckus going on in the online game Eve. Seems a lot of people just lost a lot of in-game money.
Awhile back, Mark (lokivt) commented that some players have said they have felt immersed in a game, believing they were “really there”.
About a week ago, Coyote suggested that I look into an independent game called Aveyond. With TitanQuest finished, and nothing immediately on hand, I had time to check it out.
It’s time to lighten up a little around here. So I sat down and spent about an hour or so fooling with game titles. Old ones, of course. (Old games, not THE Old Ones; we don’t want to see any of those any time soon ;).
Choosing and developing a character in TQ is not easy. Sometimes, what you read on that little fold-out sounds better than what happens in the game. Having now tried out all the masteries, I have a fair idea of what is good or not-so-good for each of them.
Keep in mind this is being written for the solo gamer, playing through on normal. Matters will be different if you’re going MP, where some group skills become important. I haven’t done MP, nor have I tried Epic/Legendary.
This is something I’ve been thinking about for quite awhile. Others have been, too, going by some recent comments: the fact that games, at least the CRPGs, haven’t changed much over the years.
