When a movie proves really popular, you can bet there will be a sequel or four in the future. The same is true of games: a hit means more of the same (and usually not as good) coming along any time now. But not every game had a sequel.
My reply to a post by Hamumu in Monday’s My Bag Runneth Over got me thinking more on economics in games. For the most part, there isn’t any.
While I work on a little screenshot problem with Fate, I figured to fill in the time with the latest episode of NWN, which resumed last Sunday.
Over on his blog, Coyote has a post about the difficulties of treasure in RPGs, be they face-to-face or computer.
So I finished early this afternoon, just in time for NWN online. As it turned out, Foozle was on level 40.
Well, I was hoping to finish the game today, but there were a few things that got in the way.
So I decided to go with Mordred and his amazing summoning ability. This is something of a first, as typically I run a fighter-type character my first time through a game.
Yeah, why should I care? What’s it to me that Foozle is up to his usual dirty tricks? For that matter, the old lady who wants her dog back can go ask someone else. Why should I care about her at all?
