Weapon Handling

Over at Planewalker, they have a little writeup on how they handle different weapon types in Broken Hourglass. I was glad to read that, because in most games, weapons aren’t all that different from each other.

The Shootist

Shooters are a very occasional thing for me. Sometimes they can be a good break from the more involved CRPGs. I like mine in the classic style: fast, furious, and detail-free. That’s because I cheat ;)

Starcraft 2 Official

Yes, it’s official, and probably not a surprise to many. Blizzard has announced Starcraft 2, and it’s in the Diablo vein. A single-player game with online play via Battlenet.

They also mention scripting and mapmaking tools, so it could be that they’re allowing for mods this time. Xian posted the link in the comments to “Slow Week”, but I’ll put it here for easier use:

Let’s Have A Dialogue

Over at RPG Codex, they have a Q&A session with several developers on the topic of dialogue/conversation, along with story-telling. It’s a pretty free-wheeling discussion, as they touch on many aspects, not just the mechanics as I wrote about in Can We Talk?.
