Taking a break from Eschalon week here, to get up something different. You may be aware of the storm raging across various game sites and blogs over the firing of Gamespot Editorial Director Jeff Gerstmann.
Continuing with our saga, it seemed the easiest of the jobs on hand was finding a bar of mithril in the wine cellar. So I trekked back to the ruined village.
After a little thought, I decided to create one more character, a Ranger, and then take each out for a little test drive.
So last night I finally got a chance to start up Eschalon. It was so nice to have real character creation, I didn’t get past that ;)
Over at Gamasutra today, Ernest Adams has a piece up on “10 Years Of Great Games”, covering products from 1998 to the present.
Weekends tend to be slow, and holiday weekends even more so. Fortunately, I came across something the other day that lets me get up at least one post so the weekend isn’t totally blank.
Over on his blog today, Coyote takes a look at how experience is awarded in RPGs. This, no surprise, has changed over time.

And, as you can see, our Xmas decor has returned for the season. Wow, it seems like only yesterday I was taking it down from last year. Ummm, let’s not think about that one. No matter, enjoy the day!
