Of course, everyone’s been waiting for me to get around to this one ;) So I downloaded the “demo” the other day and have taken my first steps into the game.
Over at the Iron Tower (NOT Lore!) forums, Vince (Age Of Decadence) Weller has up a great post on non-combat play in RPGS.
Yeah, Iron Lore just announced they’re shutting down. In case you don’t recall (or didn’t know), this is the company that did Titan Quest. Looks like there won’t be any more updates to the game, although I don’t know who actually owns the IP. If it belongs to THQ, they may still do something with it. If they don’t, maybe Iron Lore can shop the license. Whichever, it’s sad to see another company go down the tubes.
In this crazy world of ours, it seems that anything that displeases you is grounds for a lawsuit. Especially if there’s big money in it. Now Activision is being sued over its coming merger with Vivendi.
Well, the Game Developers Conference is over. Probably not a moment too soon. I’ve been reviewing reports on various websites about discussions held on the topics of “story in games”, “superficiality in games” and “games with real meaning”, and I have come to a conclusion.
So I was feeling lazy today, and joystiq helped. They cornered Ron Gilbert at the GDC and presented him with a “typical adventure game puzzle”: getting past a “ferocious robot bear” guarding a cave. So what did Ron do?
