Last night, just before midnight, the official forums for Hellgate: London and Mythos shut down. Also, the Mythos beta went offline. HG:L is no longer charging subscription fees, but I haven’t been able to determine if the game is still online, although the site is still up with no special announcement showing.

With almost all the staff gone, it’s no surprise that Flagship is closing everything down. The question now is how much legal wrangling will occur between Flagship and Hanbitsoft, who claims ownership of Mythos and is looking to take over HG:L, which is supposedly in the hands of Coamerica.

I suspect that when the dust settles, Flagship won’t be owning either of those products. However, with all those developers now set loose, who knows? They might end up working on those games again, for a different boss.
