Gives up on taking over Take-Two, that is. Electronic Arts announced today (and strange they’d do it on a Sunday) that they have decided not to pursue a merger with Take-Two.

After weathering hostile takeover attempts, T-T started talks with EA last month on a possible merger. Given that Take-Two refused an offering of roughly $2 billion early in the year, no doubt they were expecting more. Or perhaps, they knew EA wouldn’t make a better offer. That wouldn’t surprise me.

In any case, that is one less company for EA to swallow. Now, if EA would just give up on their idiotic attempts at DRM…
