I never understood the appeal of beta testing. I guess it’s just being the first to experience something. I was always afraid of a show stopping bug in the beta or having to repeat large sections when the final code was released.
Of course, with the state of games being released these days, we are all beta testers.
Xian, how true! However, I think testing for a small indie company is better than doing it for a large one.
Also, there is a group of dedicated fans for any game who do the testing because they want the game to be good. They aren’t the same as those who get into testing because they want to “be first”. Such peope usually don’t make very good testers.
