Ubisoft has a new game coming out for the DS, based on Heroes of Might & Magic. Kinda sorta. It has puzzles.
In fact, the combats in this HOMM will be turn-based puzzles. I don’t know how you can pull off that sort of thing in a strategy game. After all, you’re also running an army. “Put up that blade, Orc! I have to finish this magic square first!”
Should you tire of fighting AI, the game will also have a two-player competitive mode. The game is due out in August 2009, which, when you think of it, isn’t that far off (where is this year going?).
So if you have a DS, you may want to check this out for future reference:
i only chuck out things by ubisoft, not check out
Hmmm….. sounds a little like THIS GAME
Are you sure Ubtsoft is not 3DO?
Just got the email today from Good Old Games that the original HOMM has been added to their collection and has a $5.95 introductory price for a limited time.
I will have to wait and see what the DS game does in the reviews. Usually I tend to play puzzle type games on that platform, something that can be done in a brief sitting. I don’t know if I would want to stare at a tiny screen for hours playing an extended RPG or other game though.
A couple of things. HOMM 2 was one of my favorite games, I need to get that one back–I hope GOG gets there soon. They started getting overly complex after that one, if you ask me. Secondly, I continue to be impressed by the console RPG selection on the DS. There’s a lot of old school fun on that little thing!
