It seems that a number of people here – at least going by those who leave comments – have a long history of gaming. And a lot of those remarks have been about the fun of playing the early games. Not much has been said about the fun of playing more recent ones.

So the question is: why not? Have we become jaded? Has the thrill of playing games worn off? Or is it true that more modern games just aren’t so good? Then again, do we recall those old products with fondness because of selective nostalgia, enhancing the old because the new doesn’t satisfy?

And if we are jaded, why do we still play games? Hope? Habit? What do you think?
