The votes are in and Gamasutra has announced their “Quantum Leap Best of 2006” awards, for advancing the state of art in the industry. So what did the industry professionals choose?

Console games. Yep, not one of the top five is a PC product. Surprised? I am, a little. After all, these are pretty much the same folks who voted for the Best Story games earlier this year, all of which were PC games.

Of course, “quantum leap” in story doesn’t also mean “quantum leap” in advancing the industry. Still, you have to wonder that no PC game made the list. Are they all really that derivative, that stuck in a rut?

Anyway, the top five, in order (1-5) are: Wii Sports, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Gears of War, Okami, and Elite Beat Agents.
