Any time someone puts up a list of “best”, “top ten”, “all-time greatest”, etc., there is going to be dissension. Now Stanford University has entered the fray with a list of “the 10 most important games of all time”.

I can’t take this list seriously myself. For one thing, not a single RPG is on there. No, not one. Okay, they do have Zork, but maybe that was Steve Meretzky’s influence.

It’s incredible that all of the early RPG’s have been overlooked. How could they have missed the cut? Not even a Wizardry or Ultima?
