At least it seems so in Japan. An unnamed source is blaming the Wii for pulling audiences away from Japanese TV’s “golden hour”.

The cause for worry is that, for the first time in about 20 years, TV viewing has dropped out of double figures. Speculation is that, instead of watching TV shows, parents and kids are playing games on the Wii.

Personally, I think that’s great. Imagine parents and kids spending time together in shared activities. What a concept!

And that source could be right, because the Wii is a big seller in Japan. Very big, outselling the PS3 by 6 to 1.
