The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) may not like some games, but they don’t ignore them. In fact, they’ve just handed out a bunch of awards.

The 2007 British Academy Video Games Awards were posted just recently over at Gamasutra. It’s a complete list, showing the contenders in each category, with the winner in bold type.

It may or may not be surprising, but by far the majority of titles were for various consoles. And one game in particular swept a number of categories: Nintendo’s Wii Sports.

I wonder if it’s really that good. Six awards is a lot. Then again, I’m not familiar with most of the games that were up for consideration, so maybe it is after all.

Hmmm, I didn’t see Manhunt 2 on that list. Oh yeah, that game isn’t out yet….;)
