Maybe. Right now, Amazon is running their second “Customers Vote” promotion, where some lucky people are able to buy hot items for a crazy price.

There are six rounds, with three items per round. Up right now (round 1) are: Nintendo Wii for $79, the Sony PlayStation 3 (40GB) for $139, and the Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade for $99.

Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. PT on Wednesday, Nov. 21st. At that time, whichever system has the most votes is the winner. Amazon will then select 1,000 (yes, one thousand) customers from all those who voted for the winning system, and these lucky folks can then buy it for the stated price.

They only have one day to buy it, though, and that “buying day” happens to be Thanksgiving. Not the greatest choice in the world; they could have let it go one day beyond that, I think, and made it the 23rd instead.

Naturally, you can only vote once in each round, so be sure before you cast yours. At the moment – no surprise – the Wii is well in the lead with 55% of the votes, the PS3 is second with 31%, and the Xbox is lagging well behind with only 14%.

Below is the link to the FAQ page for the contest. Keep in mind you must be logged in to Amazon to cast your vote. While I’m not a console person, I know others out there are, and so I bring this to your attention. After all, it costs nothing to vote, and you might just get a Wii for real cheap.
