While browsing through Blues News, I saw a blurb about a Video Games Live Concert to be held in NYC on Saturday, April 26th.

That was unusual enough that I checked the link, which went to a NY event guide. The guide also had a link to the home website of the company that puts on the concerts.

This stuff seems to have been around for awhile now, but this is the first I’ve heard of it. Apparently they do tours all over the world, most in the US, but several elsewhere, too.

The shows are built around symphonic orchestrations of music from various video games. There is a video component as well, and some locations even allow for playing games.

The NYC event is being held at the Beacon Theater. Just for fun, I checked the prices. A little upscale, as the range is $35.00 – $75.00. So I think I’ll skip it. Nonethless, do check it out and see what you think. Who knows, they may be coming to your town.
